PROJECT
GROUPS, ACTIONS, MODELS
Mathematical models have been used throughout the history of mathematics, and current research is no exception. These models illustrate discoveries, but also serve as bases for further progress and communication. This project combines collaboration with researchers at the University and ENS Lyon, the contemporaneous development of visual and physical artefacts in parallel with this research, and the display and presentation of classical models from historical collections.

BIOGRAPHY
Laurent Bartholdi studied mathematics and computer science in Geneva, graduating in 2000. Since then, he has held teaching positions in Berkeley, Lausanne and Göttingen, as well as visiting positions in Jerusalem, Brasilia, Graz, Toulouse and Paris. His research focuses on group theory and its applications to geometry, probability, dynamics and theoretical computer science.
