New Fulbright France-Collegium de Lyon Fellowship

As part of the new multi-year partnership between Fulbright France and the Collegium de Lyon, Blair Sullivan, a professor of computer science at the University of Utah, has been selected for a stay at the Institut d'études avancées de l'Université de Lyon in 2025–26. Congratulations to her!

This new five-year partnership, signed in 2024, enables US applicants to one of the three national Fulbright France scholarship programmes (All Disciplines, French Studies, Fulbright-Tocqueville) who wish to be hosted by a research unit at the Lyon/Saint-Étienne university site to be eligible for a fellowship at the Collegium de Lyon. The Fulbright call for applications for a stay in 2026-2027 is currently open until 15 September 2025.

Blair Sullivan will be co-hosted by the LIP and the LIRIS. Her research focuses on parameterised algorithms, structural graph theory, applied discrete mathematics, random graphs, and combinatorial scientific computing. The title of her research project at the Collegium is ‘Bridging Theory and Practice: Advancing the Usability of Parameterized Algorithms for Network Analysis via Twin-Width and Graph Modification’.
