Luca Ciucci has just published a two-volume work entitled "Non-Verbal Predication in the World's Languages: A Typological Survey."
This project is the result of a collaboration between 40 researchers from around the world, carried out over more than five years. Published in the prestigious Comparative Handbooks of Linguistics series by De Gruyter Mouton, the work consists of two volumes totalling nearly 1,300 pages and is set to become an essential reference on non-verbal predication for years to come.
The 33 chapters, written by renowned specialists, propose a new typological framework for the study of non-verbal predication, offering detailed descriptions of languages and language families from Eurasia, America, Africa and Oceania. Particular attention is given to languages from traditions that are still poorly documented.
The electronic version is currently available; the print version will be released on 3 November.
