New publication by Seçil Dağtaş, 2017-18 fellow

Seçil Dağtaş has just published a book entitled "Under the Same Sky: Everyday Politics of Religious Difference in Southern Turkey" with the University of Pennsylvania Press. This book is an ethnographic study of the daily lives of religious minorities living near the Turkish–Syrian border. She wrote parts of it during her stay at the Collegium de Lyon between September 2017 and June 2018.
She is currently an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Waterloo in Canada, and her research focuses on everyday forms of secularity, the dynamics of borders and boundaries, and religious diversity and gender politics in the Middle East.During her time as a 2017–18 Fellow at the Collegium de Lyon, Seçil Dağtaş held the UNESCO Chair in 'Memory, Cultures and Interculturality' and was co-hosted at UCLY.
