New Studies on Subversive Manuscripts in Early Modern Europe 1620 - 1823

Clandestine Philosophy examines the circulation and consequences of 'clandestine philosophical manuscripts', a genre that flourished in the eighteenth century and included forbidden works such as erotic texts, political pamphlets, satires of court life and of the nobility, forbidden religious texts, and books about alchemy and the occult.

  Gianni Paganini est professeur d’histoire de la philosophie à l’Université du Piémont (Vercelli) et membre du Centre de recherche de l’Accademia dei Lincei (Rome). Il est spécialiste de la philosophie du XVIIe et XVIIe siècles et a été un fellow 2018-2019 du Collegium.
