Following on from the ANR AgroCCol project and the 'Cultivation in Antiquity' study day organised at the École française de Rome on 9 January 2024, the study of Columella's work, the agronomic tradition and, more broadly, the Roman didactic tradition (encyclopaedic, veterinary, medical, etc.) will be continued. The approach will focus on the gender norms advocated in these treatises, offering a new perspective on these texts.

This event is co-organised by Maëlys Blandenet (ENS, HiSoMA), Marine Bretin-Chabrol (Université Jean Moulin-Lyon 3, HiSoMA), and Ian Goh (Swansea University / Fellow 2024-25 Collegium de Lyon).
