The "Entering Literature" conference will look at the places where people learn and gain recognition for the craft of writing, attitudes and self-narratives, and the forms, genres and preferred media for becoming a writer.
As part of the international colloquium 'Entrer en littérature' organised by IHRIM (ENS de Lyon), Université Paris 8, INALCO and the Czech Academy of Sciences, Lena Magnone, researcher in residence at the Collegium, will present her research: Becoming an author in a small Central European nation before 1918. Stories of entry into literature by Olha Kobylianska and Isidora Sekulić".
Lena Magnone is a literary scholar with a particular interest in Central European modernism, psychoanalysis and women's writing. She defended her Ph.D. (2007) and habilitated (2017) at the University of Warsaw in Poland, where she is a lecturer until 2020. After a Fulbright fellowship at New York University, she moved to Germany, first as a Humboldt Scholar and then as a Research Associate at the Institute for Slavic Studies at the University of Oldenburg.
