SCIENTIFIC PROJECT

"Advances in Multi-Omic Analysis of Extracellular Vesicle Composition by High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry: Implications for the Pathophysiology of Atherosclerosis"

This project aims to establish a robust scientific partnership between USP and UdL, enhancing multi-omics methodologies applied to extracellular vesicle (EV) analysis using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HR-MS). The collaboration will provide hands-on training in advanced analytical techniques, including Electron-activated dissociation (EAD) for metabolomics and lipidomics, and investigation of post-translational modifications and redox biochemistry relevant to EVs in atherosclerosis. The project will also foster educational initiatives, such as workshops, symposia, and student exchange programs. The initiative will accelerate knowledge transfer, and enhance Brazil’s analytical infrastructure and expertise for future grant proposals. Through this collaboration, both institutions will benefit from academic networks, which aligns with our University mission to foster internationalization and promote high-impact scientific research.
