SCIENTIFIC PROJECT
"Inequalities in the "15-Minute City": a comparative research agenda on youth autonomy and transport policy"
This project consolidates the strategic collaboration between the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Transport Urban planning Economics laboratory (LAET) to investigate the limits of the "15-Minute City" in unequal territories. Building on a mature partnership evidenced by joint publications and a pending 2026 USP-COFECUB bid, this fellowship aims to operationalize the comparative analysis phase. By integrating USP’s expertise in causal inference with LAET’s leadership in mobility management, the researcher will assess how proximity policies affect youth autonomy in São Paulo and Lyon. The stay serves as a cornerstone for a long-term cooperation agenda, including teaching in the host’s MSc program and the co-supervision of doctoral candidates. The initiative ensures that the theoretical models developed jointly are empirically tested and disseminated.
