The Bentham Centre at Sciences Po Law School (Paris) brings together established scholars whose work has contributed to the rediscovery of Bentham's thought since the 1990s (Jean-Pierre Cléro and Christian Laval) and young Bentham scholars from various disciplines in the humanities and social sciences with strong linguistic skills. Peter Niesen, researcher currently in residence at the Collegium de Lyon, will co-host the workshop on 7 February 2025.
Peter Niesen is Professor of Political Theory at the University of Hamburg and co-editor of the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Constituent Power. His research interests include international political theory, the political philosophy of Kant and Bentham, and animal politics. He is a 2024-25 Fellow of the Collegium de Lyon.
