The aim of the seminar is to examine the relationship between liberals and socialists and political violence in general and revolutionary violence in particular, starting a century after 1789, when the Second International Socialist Movement was symbolically founded in Paris on 14 July.

Tommaso Giordani holds a PhD in History from the EUI (European University Institute) with a thesis on Georges Sorel. He has taught at Gonzaga University and worked on the ERC project 'Between the Times' in Tallinn.
He is a 2024-25 Fellow of the Collegium de Lyon.
